Presented at the auction house’s Hong Kong gallery space is the latest duo-exhibition by the two artist-friends. The collection of new paintings is a result of their seeing each other’s works as well as having witnessed the development of trends during Hong Kong’s golden age. The artists had constantly discussed how to include pop culture references on traditional mediums, and the presentation is a realisation of their vision.
Historically, trends develop into a cultural characteristic of an era; they change and are changed by significant figures of the era – such as celebrities and artists. Trends do not last forever, but they nevertheless influence those from that period. Viewers are sure to enjoy this flashback to trends from Hong Kong’s very own golden age.
