Form and Essence: Between Complexity and Simplicity
WHAT
Artelli’s inaugural exhibition of young Chinese artists features the work of Wang Bo, a young Chinese artist selected by the Ministry of Culture for cultural industry key initiatives. Wang explores the delicate balance between complexity and simplicity, deconstructing the challenges of reality. Using bold and vivid colours, he analyses everyday aesthetics, reconstructs Chinese landscapes, and interprets classic Western motifs to create a visually captivating experience that connects time, space, and emotion.
WHY
Inspired by the poems of Macanese poet, Yao Feng, Wang Bo’s ‘One Book’ series transcends boundaries and evokes deep emotions, connecting his work to the city of Macau. By combining historical iconography and spatial treatment, he presents a visual language that balances complexity with simplicity. The exhibition allows audiences to appreciate the artist’s innovative approach, as well as his ability to capture the essence of life.
