Curated by Philipp Bollmann, the group exhibition features works by six artists from different generations and origins: Miriam Cahn, Helen Frankenthaler, Leiko Ikemura, Martha Jungwirth, Michael Müller, and Maximilian Rödel. The artworks on display delve into the exploration of light and colour in painting, highlighting the transition from gestural abstraction to colour field painting and emphasising the enduring presence of glow and light in contemporary art. The exhibition showcases the diverse approaches of the artists and their unique interpretations of the inner light found in colours.

WHY
A captivating and immersive experience centred around the theme of ‘inner light’, the term is reminiscent of American abstract artist Mark Rothko, who used it to describe the effect of his abstract paintings. Six artists’ diverse backgrounds and generations bring forth a rich dialogue: through their innovative techniques and unique compositions, these artists invite viewers to explore the interplay between light, colour, and emotions, evoking a profound sense of introspection and highlighting the transformative power of art.
