Weird & Wonderful: The Visions of Nic Gaunt

April 1, 2023 - April 30, 2023

WHAT
A British-born prodigy, Gaunt had shown artistic talent and promise when at the age of 9, he was accepted into the Stourbridge Photographic Society despite their minimum age requirement of 14. This accomplishment would be the first in a long string turned career in the artistic space, up until Gaunt’s passing in 2022. Outside of his art, he was known for championing a number of social causes and this exhibition hopes to honour Gaunt’s legacy, displaying a number of his weird yet wonderful works from throughout his years.

WHY
Despite being British-born and having a long history in the United Kingdom, a large part of the artist had always been tied to Hong Kong. He lived in the city for 10 years with his wife, eventually joining the Foreign Correspondents’ Club and becoming active members of the Wall Committee. Current members might find an interest in seeing all the amazing work he has done throughout his career and how much of a visionary he was.
