WHAT
The exhibition of photographs explores the history and visual culture of the infamous Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong. A remarkable collection that illuminates the stories of its residents, the presentation is a testament to human ingenuity and adaptability; it celebrates the spirit of those who lived there while highlighting the vital role of photography and books in preserving heritage in a constantly evolving city such as Hong Kong. The 4 artists featured are Ian Lambot, Greg Girard, Bianca Tse and Keeping Lee.
WHY
The exhibition allows visitors to delve into the rich visual history of this once-controversial urban enclave, and to revisit the past history of this part of Hong Kong through an anthropological and socio-economical lens. Prints and books are also available throughout the exhibition.
