Ti Brulé
WHAT
The exhibition of new paintings is named after the song composed by the French artist-musician, which includes seven large-scale paintings and one small-scale composition. It is an exploration of the artist’s personal and cultural connections to Réunion Island and its active volcano, Piton de la Fournaise. Through a series of layered and expressive semi-abstract paintings titled ‘Fournez’, the artist weaves together a visual symphony that echoes the moods and resonances of the volcano. His multi-disciplinary practice draws inspiration from his rich Creole heritage and cherished memories of growing up on Réunion Island.
WHY
Immerse yourself in a captivating experience that combines history, cultural influences, and abstract expression. The exhibition promises a journey into the artist’s unconscious, where the power and beauty of the volcano intertwine with personal memories and interpretations. This is an opportunity to witness the artist’s mastery of layered textures and gestural marks.
