The German photographer (b.1954) is best known for his Museum Photographs series, black and white photographs ofthe streets of Düsseldorf and New York taken in the 1970s, and his family photographs series. The exhibition includes photographs taken at CERN and the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, which include large-scale panoramic photographs of CERN’s monumental scientific structures and smaller-scale images of intricate mechanisms and remnants of technological discovery.

The artist’s work challenges viewers to reflect on the complexities of science and technology. By presenting images of human ingenuity and meticulous scientific study, the exhibition highlights our relentless quest to expand our knowledge, and the intricate relationship between humanity, nature, and technological progress.
