Curated by esteemed art historian Joachim Pissarro, this groundbreaking showcase pays tribute to the pair of artists, bringing together a selection of their finest paintings and works on paper. The exhibition explores the artists’ unique approaches to painting and abstraction, revealing the physical and metaphysical aspects of their works. Richter’s diverse body of work includes abstract and photo paintings, overpainted photographs, and works on paper; while Scully’s contribution includes a range of paintings selected from his studio.
The exhibition takes place at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Hall at the Asia Society, concurrently with the presentation at Ben Brown Fine Arts in Wong Chuk Hang from 23 March to 29 June.

Works by the two visionary artists ignite a previously uncharted dialogue that addresses their unique biographies and the artistic, political and ideological influences, which have led them to become two of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition provides an opportunity to examine their trailblazing paths towards invention and innovation.
