WHAT
In this exhibition, the gallery introduces works that bridge the gap between two artists who live in different cities and time zones, as well as living different lifestyles. The bridge is ceramic art; this common interest created a path for the artists to demonstrate their distinctive characteristics, while simultaneously opening a channel for them to express their admiration and feelings of endearment for one another. While Li uses grogged clay to depict her signature figures of people going about their daily lives, Yeung chooses to employ transparent and thin layers of colour on ceramics to create contrasting senses of void and fullness.

WHY
Works from the two ceramic artists carry their own strengths in terms of appearance and subject matter. While they are in different spaces and times, they connect the two worlds with their own creative imaginations. Li’s works represent the warmth of relationships and human nature while referencing everyday experiences; on the other hand, Yeung captures more abstract concepts and themes, discussing the ideas of tranquillity, serenity, and vastness.
