WHAT
This is the newest instalment in the renowned designer-artist’s long-running red-white-blue collection, which was first presented at the Hong Kong Pavilion during the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. The current presentation brings all of these pieces of the collection together by showcasing a number of classic creations such as sculptures and photographs. The works are inspired by his Hong Kong spirit, which he feels is uniquely tied to the red-white-blue fabric that originally appeared in the 1960s as cladding for the scaffolding at building sites. Generally considered to be tawdry, it is a nonetheless an iconic metaphor for the indomitable Hong Kong spirit.

WHY
Born Stanley Wong ping-pui, the artist better known as anothermountainman was born in 1960. As a contemporary artist and designer, he has received over 600 local, Asian and international awards for his art, photography, design and advertising works, making this reason enough to visit the exhibition. Audiences get an opportunity to see how the red-white-blue is representative of the Hong Kong spirit and take inspiration from Wong’s passion for his identity, as well as to witness how he injects his love of design forms into his works.
