WHAT WE KNOW

This is the artist’s 2nd solo exhibition with the gallery, and its title is inspired by a geological term for a rock mass created through the sliding and accumulation of semi-fluid sediments. Consisting of new acoustic sculptures within a complex sound installation, Gork uses microphones, loudspeakers, and signal processing software embedded within the landscape to further engage her audience. She not only challenges all pre-existing notions of sound by using unconventional mediums such as acoustic sculptures, but attempts to shift the hierarchy between audience performer, and exhibition architecture.
