WHAT WE KNOW

Besides being a cartoonist and illustrator, Spanish-born Joan Cornellà is also a social media phenomenon. Best known for his satirical and humorous comics, Cornellà’s works are bizarre, self-deprecating, and poke fun at modern society. His signature art blew up on the Internet 2 years ago with the ‘Baby Yeet’ meme, where a woman tosses a baby into the air like a basketball.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Together with his signature prints, Cornellà showcases his latest life-size panels and bronze sculptures for the first time to his Hong Kong audience. In this exhibition, you can catch his most recent style of works, which combine imagery with text to add a brand-new layer of humour in the style of memes. This exhibition is Cornellà’s third in Hong Kong and is in collaboration with AllRightsReserved, a creative studio dedicated to staging the most inspiring, thought-provoking and contemporary art exhibitions relevant to modern society.
