WHAT
The exhibition is a joint presentation between William and his wife, Lavina, who makes her debut in a gallery show. Completing 1 flower painting every month, the series of 12 works documents William’s changing moods and emotions through 2023, and is complemented by 3 larger family paintings and a collection of sketches on boarding passes and postcards, as well as oil pastels on paper of the view from his airplane window, drawn during his flights this past year. William’s exhibition is accompanied by a presentation of limited-edition photography works by his wife, Lavina. The i-phone images capture the adventures of Gai Gai – a ceramic chicken the couple collected in Mexico – who travels around the world with the Lims.

WHY
William Lim always considers his artwork a diary of his life. His blooms are metaphors for the different chapters in his life, where he embraces special moments; more significantly, they mark his artistic blossoming. Each of his paintings invites viewers to challenge their own perceptions, consider new perspectives, and appreciate what life has to offer. Lavina’s images are the perfect accompaniment to William’s paintings, offering viewers a complete picture of the couple in their journey through life together (with Gai Gai).
