In Dialogue with Nature
WHAT
In her solo show at the gallery, the Hong Kong-based artist visually expounds upon the philosophy of living with nature – only by abandoning the idea of the supremacy of all things and by living in reverence with nature can one realise its power. Her works are metaphors of a harmonious existence with nature. Using collages and a carefree style of brushstrokes, the artist projects her visions on paper, developing layers of texture and delicate lines that morph into meaningful images.
WHY
The landscapes in the exhibition are odes to nature, where the artist’s inspiration is derived from the awareness of life around us. Believing that we ought to rely on the observation and understanding of life to discover living sensory entities before internally transforming them into subjective emotions, she expresses these musings as unique forms and substances on paper through ink and colour.
