Here and There: Re-Imagining Hong Kong Landscapes
WHAT
In this exhibition, the six invited artists explore the meanings and hidden depths tied to different Hong Kong landscapes and cityscapes: Victoria Peak, Pok Fu Lam, Kowloon Mountain Ranges, Yuen Long, the peripheral islands, and the Hong Kong Island cityscape. Each of these sites has significant historical and cultural value to Hong Kong and they inspire the respective artist to create works honouring history and culture.
WHY
Through diverse mediums from ceramics to paintings to moving images, each of the artists uses a unique perspective to create commissioned works, displaying not only their understanding of the sites but their personal connection to them as well. Along with the exhibition, there are also other activities including artist talks, public seminars, and a sketching tour for those who are interested in learning more.
