Renowned French conceptual artist, Laurent Grasso, works with a vast range of mediums. His research into science, history, mythology and the supernatural forms the foundation of his work. Experimenting with video, installation, painting, and photography – to name a few – he immerses his audience in stories rather than in the physicality of his pieces.

WHY WE LOVE IT

This is Grasso’s debut Hong Kong show with Perrotin. His wide knowledge of the world around and before us shapes his creations, including producing works that explore different algorithms to capture and manifest intangible elements. Upon entry to the gallery, immerse yourself in ‘Solar Wind’, a video installation that explores concepts of science, belief, illusion, and fiction, based on the artist’s interest in solar storms and space meteorology. The exhibition showcases a truly prolific, well-researched body of work.
