Everybody Wanna Be Happy
WHAT
The solo exhibition of the acclaimed Thai contemporary artist offers a retrospective of his artistic practice spanning two decades. It showcases wall-hangings and sculptural pieces, as well as an ongoing workshop for refugees in Thailand. His works break free from conventional craft and the lineage of Western modernism in textile and fibre art, and addresses the physical tension and isolation emblematic of contemporary life.
The exhibition is staged in conjunction with Siributr’s exhibition at Flowers Gallery.
WHY
The exhibition poses questions about the meaning of happiness and invites visitors to reflect on diverse human endeavours. It invites viewers to contemplate the intricate stories woven through sewing and embroidery, shedding light on religious and social conflicts in Southeast Asia.
