Celebration
WHAT
For the beginning of the new year, ‘Celebration’ is a group exhibition showcasing artworks of 10 artists from all over the world and their own interpretations of what ‘celebration’ means. Through diverse media ranging from animation and interactive mapping installation to ink on paper works, to name a few, the group show invites audiences to experience how international artists cherish life in their works.
WHY
As Colombian painter Fernando Botero once said, ‘Art should be an oasis: a place or refuge from the hardness of life’, works by this array of international artists resonate with audiences and create a dialogue that sparks uplifting conversations about life’s moments. Whether the feelings are joyful or mysterious, they bring about a plethora of possibilities! While Alejandro Rodríguez combines modern techniques with the spiritual sensations of ancient Megalithic stones, Zhang Xiaodong creates an illusive world that takes viewers on an ethereal and uplifting journey of Duhuang; and Andrea Björsell focuses on the interaction between architecture and people.
