Between Shapes & Forms
WHAT
Belgian artist, Jean Philippe Duboscq’s textured works and American artist, Jon Poblador’s minimalistic paintings make up an exhibition where experimentation, the bold mastery of know-how and the power of the medium converge. While Duboscq expresses art through materiality, volumetry, abstraction, and lyrical abstraction; Poblador focuses on conceptual pieces and repetition by adding colours in a series of vertical and horizontal lines, which can be seen beneath the surface of the works.
WHY
In today’s world of rapidly advancing technology, painting remarkably connects us to the oldest and most basic forms of human self-expression, as creating was a fundamentally abstract pursuit. Through the artists’ textured works and minimalistic paintings, viewers are drawn into a world of pure colour and form, and are stirred to reflect on the human experience.
