WHO
Bertrand Lavier
WHAT
This is the fifth solo exhibition of the French artist, presenting his iconic ‘readymades’ alongside vibrant abstract monochromes, as well as new works centering on landscape and geography. The showcase unfolds in two parts: the first part is dedicated to colour, while the second focuses on landscape or geography, both in abstract and figurative forms. The artist’s practice involves irony and humour, as he continually investigates art through a unique lens.
WHY
With his critique of consumerism, visual habits, and art institutions, the artist’s use of everyday industrial objects pokes and provokes. His focus on the interrelationships between works make for a tongue-in-cheek viewing experience.
