Anti-Fragile
WHAT
An exhibition featuring three different artists and three different mediums, the focus is placed on how anti-fragility is addressed through art within three different contexts.
Society: Alun’s work is an exploration of the impact of technology on society. The intention is to provide a visual narrative of faith in a digital future where the lines between humanity and technology are blurred.
Materiality: Ousmane’s reworking of metal transforms a robust medium into what could now be perceived as a fragile creation.
Sustainability: Clive’s ingenuity in using upcycled material breathes new life into mundane objects of our consumerist society.
WHY
The discussion that arises from the exhibition is that of harmony and what happens when the world lacks the balance required for that harmony. The exhibition aims to explore humanity’s ability to thrive and grow when exposed to randomness, disorder, and stressor risks. With different mediums – photography, design, and sculpture – each artist creates works informed by their African heritage.
