Postmodern Tales

March 20, 2023 - April 29, 2023

WHAT
The exhibition displays contemporary art practices in Hong Kong that encompass the diversity of the human experience and the multiplicity of perspectives that present themselves from these diverse experiences. Curated by HART director Vera Lam, the presentation features works from 8 of Hong Kong’s most exciting emerging artists. Each artist adopts a multidisciplinary practice that is grounded in their understanding of the use of medium, probing into topics of postmodernity around human intimacy, rituals, and the rejection of universal hopes and fears.

WHY
For those already entrenched in the Hong Kong contemporary art scene or interested in looking into it further, this exhibition is perfect. The works discuss the concepts of intimacy and fragility, hopes and dreams, as well as fears and challenges. More importantly, the 8 artists presented are current artists-in-residence at HART Haus, the incubation space run by HART Collective, which actively cultivates imagination and exchange between resident artists, and facilitates cross pollination between artistic practices and identities.
