1) An artist whose work I would pick to hang in my living room is…
Chu Teh-Chun – no kidding, that’s what I have in my living room.
2) My favourite museum in the world is…
It’s hard to pick one as there are so many that I love for different reasons. The Picasso Museum in Spain because I love Picasso’s works and find his works and the space interesting. The Royal Academy in London because they always have well-curated exhibitions. The Tate Modern for similar reasons. The MET in New York for the breadth and depth of the collection, and also in particular the Chinese Department for its exploration into Chinese contemporary art, such as the exhibition on Ink Art several years ago. The Art Institute of Chicago for their amazing Impressionist collection and also for their openness in exhibiting contemporary Chinese Art. The Guggenheim Bilbao for the building’s architecture. The list is endless – there isn’t really a museum in the world that I don’t like! What I’m really looking forward to is the opening of M+ in Hong Kong.
3) The best exhibition I’ve seen in recent years was…
Since I couldn’t travel outside of Hong Kong the last year, I’ve only seen local exhibitions. I think the Hong Kong Museum of Art’s ‘Not a Fashion Shop’ was very cleverly curated; I quite enjoyed the way it brought new life to the museum’s existing collection. As part of that show, there were a number of Chinese Diaspora artists presented, including Walasse Ting and Zao Wou–Ki.
4) I am inspired when…
I see good art!
5) An object I would never part with is…
The first painting I ever got. It was a gift from my mother for my 18th birthday. She gave me a Walasse Ting painting.
6) My style icon is…
I don’t have one but I prefer a classical style.
7) The favourite thing about my career is…
Meeting artists and people who love art.
8) If I weren’t doing what I do now, I would be…
Doing something else in the art world.

To have this opportunity to run Alisan Fine Arts.
10) If I could invite any 5 guests to dinner, I would invite…
Pablo Picasso, Peggy Guggenheim, Andy Warhol, Emperor Qianlong, Lui Shou-Kwan.
