The ‘The Au Bak Ling Collection: The Inaugural Sale’ is the first live sale at its new Asia Pacific headquarters. It features Chinese ceramics from one of the most comprehensive private collections of the category, amassed by the esteemed late collector Au Bak Ling (1928-2019). In addition, unseen in public for more than 3 decades, the presentation of Vincent van Gogh’s ‘Les canots amarrés’ (featured above) marks an extraordinary historic moment. Poised to break the artist’s auction record in Asia, this work is a highlight of Christie’s 20th/ 21st Century Inaugural Evening Sale.
