WHY
The presentation reveals a unique thematic exploration of Chinese characters. Artists from diverse historical and cultural backgrounds contribute their distinct ‘play on words’, showcasing works selected from a span of over 40 years. Witness the evolution of calligraphic scripts through the masterful brushwork of renowned artists such as Wang Dongling and Li Huasheng, alongside those who continue the legacy of Lui Shou-Kwan, a pioneer of the New Ink Movement. Their practices are deeply-rooted in Chinese characters, inviting introspection and connections.
