WHAT
The group exhibition is a showcase of works by three female Chinese artists: Yang Ou, Shuang Lei, and Lanqian Zhang. Yang Ou’s works are gentle and elegant Chinese traditional ink paintings in the Southern style; Shuang Lei’s works are full of respect for the myriad universes of nature, and exude an unusual energy; Lanqian Zhang’s works explore the relationship between ‘imagery’ and the origin of ‘things’ in Chinese traditional culture.

WHY
The three artists explore integrating traditional Eastern humanistic thought with rigorous Western artistic language through abstract expression as an artistic language, reflecting their self-awareness and concepts. This process is rational behaviour after thinking, but the audience can explore powerful emotional thoughts to witness the collision between ‘rationality’ and ‘sensibility’ that is the product of this unique artistic language.
