Julius Baer ‘Next Generation’ Art Prize Winners’ Exhibition

July 19, 2023 - December 31, 2023

WHAT
The online showcase focuses on the theme of human connections amidst our increasingly digital world driven by AI, data, and technology. Inspired by themes of Future Cities, Digital Disruption, and Sustainability, the works find ways to address real challenges, and bring to light some trends that shape our foreseeable future. Presented by the Swiss wealth management group Julius Baer, the works are all creations by the six winners of Julius Baer’s latest ‘Next Generation’ Art Prize (2022). Through this Prize, Julius Baer hopes to demonstrate their support of the arts, as well as art’s intersection with technology. The online exhibition is presented in a ‘metaworld’ that resembles a floating, futuristic Asian city.

Featured artists include Jamela Law, Carla Chan, Natalie Wong, Viraag Desai, Chan Wan Kyn, and André Wee.

The works of the exhibition are available for viewing on the bank’s website. Instructions on how to access the interactive exhibition itself can be found here.

WHY
The winners of the ‘Next Generation’ Art Prize were a part of a one-of-a-kind Art and Technology Accelerator programme over 3 months. In this programme, the artists made their works based on their winning concept proposals, supported by industry expert mentors and resources provided by Julius Baer. Viewers will be fascinated by being able to interact with the art created by these six winning artists.
