WHAT WE KNOW

Carmen Ng is a Hong Kong contemporary water-colourist and ink painter who applies watercolour and ink, line and form as practice. Upon graduating from Hong Kong Baptist University, she started off her career as an office worker before deciding to pursue art. With a particular sensitivity to her surroundings, her works render the illusion of an imaginary reality.

WHY WE LOVE IT

With a refreshingly original hand-drawn style in watercolour and ink, Ng’s works appear imaginary and even a little surreal. She recreates scenes that can only exist in our imagination, prompting us to explore our subconscious mind. Her works might appear simple, but they demonstrate a keen observation of her surroundings as well as a technique requiring patience and skill.
