WHAT
Firmly anchored by the Modern and Contemporary Art Department, the preview at Bonhams also includes works from the upcoming auctions of Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, Fine Chinese Ceramics & Works of Art, Fine Chinese Paintings, as well as a private collection of bronze arrow vases from the Brian Harkins Collection. Viewing is in-house at the Bonhams Hong Kong office. The dates for viewing vary for the different exhibitions, so be sure to check ahead of your visit.

WHY
Compared to Christie’s, the smaller scale of the Bonhams preview provides a cosier environment for viewing. Expertly-curated, the auction preview offers an excellent overview of the art on offer without overwhelming. Highlights from the Modern and Contemporary Art Department focus heavily on Japanese contemporary artists, including works by Ayako Rokkaku, Yoshitomo Nara, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, and Aya Takano, in addition to other Asian favourites such as Liu Ye, Walasse Ting, and Ju Ming.
