WHAT
In this first solo exhibition in Asia by the Oslo-based artist, the complex relationship between embodied time and emotional work is explored. The display features oil paintings and sketches created between 1970 and 1990 by Guo’s mother, once scattered around a Seattle home, now narrating an artistic journey shaped by circumstances. Paired with pinhole photographs of a suburban study, filled with everyday items, the exhibition presents a personal testament to paradoxes of proximity and distance. The show also includes new projector sculptures.

WHY
This exhibition offers a deep dive into a world of introspection and personal exploration – a journey through time, space, and memory. The artist’s transformative use of everyday objects provides a fresh lens to appreciate and reflect upon a circumstance, in which physical or geographical proximity amplifies distance, and where separation fosters feelings of closeness.
