WHAT
Co-founder of Boogie Woogie Photography and French photographer VV Franklin presents this intimate yet provocative series, documenting her hotel quarantine experience following a long-overdue trip between France and Hong Kong. During the 21 days of confinement, loneliness and temporary loss of mobility, VV used self-portrait as a language of inner dialogue, challenging themes of self-identity, body, movement and emotion. Her works offer reflection, revelation and reassurance, challenging viewers with nudity while elegantly expressing her own voice, emotions and aesthetics.
WHY
The exhibition takes you on an aesthetically pleasing yet isolated journey, reminding you of collective memories or strange experiences that exist in the face of the pandemic. Putting viewers under an objective lens, VV’s work exposes a special connection between a person’s emotions and the objects in a hotel room, directing viewers to reflect their inner world and explore the uncertainty. Please note that the exhibition contains nudity and is restricted to visitors aged 18 and above.
