WHAT
A painter, filmmaker, and writer based out of Toronto, this is Williamson’s debut exhibition in Asia. Featuring a series of paintings, her work focuses on the visual markers of daily life and how they can shape experiences. Each of her paintings is devoid of protagonists and instead comes off as still life and nature observations. Produced during the past year, they contain a multitude of juxtapositions such as showcasing the strange within the familiar, and the surreal within the banal.

WHY
Williamson possesses a unique perspective due to her experience as a filmmaker and a writer. Her approach is inspired by her film and writing background. Using her amazing techniques to portray light, she inspires a number of almost nostalgic emotions in the viewer, with the way atmospheric ambiance is captured in her works.
