WHAT
Curated by Zhang Zikang, chief curator of the China Pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale, the joint exhibition features over 30 artworks by Chinese ink wash painting master, Feng Zhongyun, and Italian abstract photographer, Elisa Sighicelli. Both born in the 1960s, Feng  is dedicated to breaking the boundaries of ink painting with powerful brushstrokes and rich colours, while  Sighicelli is adept at capturing the subtle beauty of sculptures, architecture and still-life objects with experimental photography techniques on unexpected and novel media such as marble, plaster and satin.

WHY
Capturing the essence of Eastern and the Western cultures, the show encapsulates the fusion of Eastern artistic concepts with Western artistic philosophies. Employing diverse artistic practices, visual languages and cultural references, the artworks create a cross-cultural dialogue that provokes meaningful conversations.
