Angels from Infinity
Kwai Fung Salone is an initiative of Kwai Fung Hin, and its inaugural exhibition features eleven sculptural works from Chi Wing Lo, where the artist shares his perception of aesthetics, life and civilisation as reflected in this collection of fascinating creations. The enchanting works are made from Canadian maple and bronze, and are inspired by the artist’s spiritual models whom he calls ‘angels’, who have guided and accompanied him since his childhood from a small fishing village in east Hong Kong. As messengers to inspire questions, cast doubts, stretch limits, define unknowns, and decipher enigmas that may never be decipherable, these ‘angels’ are also present to ignite the love of art and to kindle the graciousness of the soul.
Kindly note that Kwai Fung Salone is located at Shop 03-G07 of the Barrack Block at Tai Kwun, right behind Pazta restaurant. It is open by appointment, from Tuesday – Saturday, 11am-6pm.
As the first exhibition at the Kwai Fung Salone, the exhibition is an impressive one! Not only is it beautifully presented, but each sculptural piece is exquisite and captivating in its own way, inviting audiences to ponder its origin, concept, method of making, and purpose. With forms that are surreal and creative, the imaginative works transport audiences to another world, weaving fantasy with reality.
