WHAT
Hailing from the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Rome, the exhibition is an overview of modern art, featuring 57 authentic works by 43 renowned artists. As its name suggests, the exhibition covers over 100 years of modern art from 1865 to 1977, and spans a multitude of different mediums, from oil paintings, sculptures, to photography and more. A vast display of art movements is presented, including Macchiaioli, Impressionism, Vienna Secession, Blue Rider, Expressionism, Futurism, Cubism, Metaphysical Painting, Surrealism, Spatialism, Abstract Expressionism, Op Art, and many others. Artists featured include impressive names such as Klimt, Van Gogh, Modigliani, Monet, Cézanne, Duchamp, and Pollock.

WHY
The strong collection of works presents a vast array of influential art movements that were significant in the development of contemporary art. In addition, important Italian artists who played a pivotal role in the development of modern art are featured, such as De Chirico, Balla, Fontana, and Boccioni.
